At Camp Caroline, we understand that growing relationships (with friends and with God) and high energy outlets are exactly what teens are looking for. So that’s exactly what we’ve designed! As you participate in a week filled with swimming, archery, high ropes challenges, crafts, zip-lining and much, much more, we’ll make sure your experience is simply unforgettable by filling it with people and activities you will remember for the rest of your life.
Drop Off: Sunday from 4:30pm to 5:30pm
Pick Up: Friday at 2:00pm
BBQ & Closing Program: Camper parents are invited to a BBQ at 12:30 pm on Friday followed by the closing program at 1:30 pm; before camper departure at 2:00 pm.
All campers get an opportunity to participate in our regular onsite activities. These include: crafts, archery tag, target archery, axe throwing, swimming, giant swing, climbing wall, high ropes, zipline, etc. Each camper selects one special option or day trip (see list below) during registration which is added to their activity schedule for their camp week.
We partner with Beaver Creek Trail Rides and their fantastic horses for this great introduction to horsemanship. Three interactive sessions (including a double block) with your horse both in the corrals and along our trails makes this one of our most popular options.
For those with little to none horsemanship experience, this variation of our regular Horsemanship Program is for you! In this option we’ll spend more time on the basics, and keep the trail rides at a slower pace. It has the same amount of time as our regular option, but splits the sessions into 4 bite-sized blocks.
If being outdoors on the water is your thing, participate in this offsite day trip to one of the beautiful lakes close to Camp Caroline. Our trained outtrip staff will teach you how to canoe, tour you around the gorgeous lake, and of course, play lots of great games out on the water.
Don’t miss out on this offsite day trip hike in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Each year we search out the best hikes in our area, and tailor them to the age and ability of our campers.
Three hours of high energy, adrenaline-pumping paintball action worked into your already great week of camp. Offered only to our older campers, our onsite forest course provides a challenge for all skill levels and is the perfect setting for an all-out paintball experience.
How about an afternoon on the lake, slung back and forth over the wake with a bunch of friends? If that sounds like a blast, then this is the option for you! Getting soaked guaranteed.
Our White Water Rafting trips take place on the Red Deer River, which is only 90 minutes away from camp. The Mukwah Tours group has been our rafting partner for years and are complete pros, providing the exciting outdoor experience you are looking for while employing nothing but the top safety standards. Cliff jumping optional, but recommended.

Cancellations
*Contagious Illness Protocol:
In an effort to keep our campers and staff happy and healthy, Camp Caroline has a contagious illness protocol. The communal living environment of summer camp brings an increased risk for spread of contagious illnesses (e.g. influenza, chicken pox, pink eye, COVID-19, etc.). Staff and campers who have experienced symptoms of contagious illness in the days prior to the start of camp are asked to remain at home until any mandatory isolation requirements are complete (if any required by Alberta Health), and/or they are no longer contagious. Campers who reveal symptoms of contagious illness upon arrival at camp or who develop these symptoms while at camp will be isolated from other campers and staff, and parents will be asked to take them home. Camp fees or a pro-rated portion thereof will be refunded in the case of cancellation or early departure due to illness.
Forced Closure Plan
If Camp Caroline is forced to close/cancel your stay due to changes in local or provincial COVID-19 restrictions, camper families will be given these options:
We don’t want to see anyone miss out on the opportunity to experience a week at camp! If you or your child would not be able to attend summer camp without financial assistance, you are welcome to apply to the Camp Caroline Scholarship Fund, a fund into which many generous Camp Caroline supporters have donated, helping to make the camp experience available to as many as possible. Please note that due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the closure of Camp Caroline, scholarship funds for 2022 are limited.
Because we want to be good stewards of the funds God has entrusted to us through these generous donors, we have put the following Scholarship Fund guidelines in place:
For more information on how to apply, see the Scholarship Application form during online registration. All requests will be carefully considered.
Here are our best hints to help pay for camp:
This is an example of a typical day at Camp Caroline. Slight adjustments are made to the times depending on the week to facilitate age appropriate bedtimes.
8:00 AM Wake up, get ready for the day!
8:30 AM Breakfast - Could be pancakes and sausages, waffles with bacon and eggs, french toast, and more!
Morning: Worship and Teaching from our fantastic guest speakers, and discussion time with your cabin. Then off to a morning event with the whole camp or an adventure time with your cabin; depending on the day.
12:30 PM Lunch - Could be chicken burgers, tacos, grilled cheese, and many more great camp classics!
Afternoon: Three blocks of Activity Time with your cabin. During a week of camp all our campers get an opportunity to participate in our great onsite activities (crafts, swimming, archery tag, ziplining, and more!) as well as their one pre-selected program option or outtrip (Lasertag, Paintball, Horsemanship, White Water Rafting, etc.).
5:30 PM Supper - Could be spaghetti and meatballs, chicken fingers and fries, stir fry and rice, and many more options!
6:15 PM - Camp Wide Evening Special: Including game classics such as Styx (Capture the Flag), Underground Church, and of course, Kingdom’s Quest.
Evening: Another time of Worship and Teaching, and discussion time with your cabin. Then a chance to grab some cookies and fruit as you hang out on the deck during “Crunchtime”. We end off the day all together at Campfire up on the ridge overlooking the camp. Then head to our rooms for a good night's sleep.
Under the current AHS guidelines for overnight camps, we are not required to collect proof of vaccination in order for campers to attend/participate in camp programs. Therefore, as things sit presently, we do not anticipate asking for proof of vaccination as a condition of enrollment.
In the months ahead we will continue to work with Alberta Health to make sure we have the most recent health care plans in place for this summer.
Like many Albertan’s we are looking forward to the prospect of resuming regular operations. Regular operations at Camp Caroline have always made the health and safety of our campers a top priority. Health and Safety was a priority before the pandemic and will continue to be so as we move forward.
With summer still months away we cannot be certain of what it will be like. However, we know a few things that will remain true as we anticipate summer and move forward.
