Thank you for your interest in applying for summer ministry at Camp Caroline! With so many opportunities to fill your summer, ministering at a summer camp is a top choice. Here are 5 reasons to consider serving with Camp Caroline:
Training for Life and Ministry
Camp Caroline is committed to building into our staff – not using them up. We believe that if you are a Christian you are in ministry. We intend to prepare our staff to leave Camp Caroline ready to enter into whatever ministry God has next for them. We see a summer at Camp Caroline as training for life long ministry. The training is challenging in every way; it is often intense and not easy. However, it can be extremely rewarding. You will be involved in accountability, mentorship, experiential learning and debriefing, much prayer, personal Bible study, and worship. You will be given tools for effective ministry to take with you wherever you go. Camp Caroline is dedicated to training godly leaders – young men and women who will have a godly influence on the world around them.
Spiritual Challenge
You will need to always be turning to God for your strength, wisdom, direction and help. Because of that, your relationship with God will grow deep and wide in ways that you may not be able to imagine.
Time Well Spent
There is nothing more worthwhile than pouring yourself into someone else’s life. You will find satisfaction in knowing that God has used you to have significant and eternal contributions in others’ lives.
Skill and Career Experience
What you can see, do, and learn in a summer at camp is often extremely valuable for career development and practical experience. We want our staff to go home with some practical, marketable skills.
Financial Rewards
Although money is not the reason anyone should be involved in ministry, it is a reality in our lives. Camp Caroline pays its full time summer staff $280 per week with room and board included. We also provide bonuses for returning staff. We hope to bless our staff with at least a little money to help them with God’s plans for them in the fall.
Serving as a summer staff or volunteering at Camp Caroling has proven to be a life-changing experience for so many people. Please check out the menu items on the right to get started.
Camp Caroline is committed to providing a safe environment for campers and staff at all levels - physical, emotional, and spiritual. Therefore, up-to-date** police information checks are required for all Camp Caroline staff, including year-round staff, summer staff, volunteers, and LDTs. However, applicants for these roles will first undergo a screening process by Camp Caroline which includes interviews and reference checks. A police information check is NOT required until you have been accepted by Camp Caroline, but upon acceptance at Camp Caroline, applicants will be required to provide a clear, up-to-date** police information check to confirm their status. Thank you for working with us to create a safe Camp Caroline.
To Obtain a Police Information Check, you need to go in person to your local* police or RCMP station with two pieces of identification (see below for details). *Calgary and Edmonton residents must go to the locations listed below. In addition, volunteers and LDTs will need to bring an original letter from Camp Caroline verifying the details of your involvement in order to receive a reduced fee ($0-10). Volunteers: please wait for us to send this letter to you before you go into the station. Paid staff will have to pay the regular fee (approx. $30) and therefore do not need a letter. Your prompt attention to this matter is greatly appreciated (in larger centers processing time can exceed four weeks).
