There are so many people who contribute to the ongoing ministry of Camp Caroline, including volunteers, faithful prayer warriors, summer staff, donors, year-round staff (full-time & part-time), and board members, just to name a few.  We are all blessed to serve together with such wonderful people for the cause of Christ.

On this page, we would like to highlight our full-time, year-round staff and our board members.  Here we have pictures and descriptions of each of our year-round staff and their spouses.  Below is a list of the people who serve on the Camp Board of Directors and what role they play on the board.

Jim Crozier

Executive Director

Jim Crozier
Executive Director

Jim has been the Executive Director of Camp Caroline for 27 years. He started in June 1982, following a call from God to leave business and serve the Lord in full time ministry. Camp ministry combines his passions for ministry, caring for people, and business savvy. Prior to serving at Camp Caroline, Jim lectured in Accounting at British Columbia Institute of Technology of which he was a graduate. Prior to the B.C.I.T. years he was District Manager for Pacific Press “The Province” newspaper.

Although Jim oversees the entire organization, his primary responsibilities include vision (what would God have us do in the future), care of and training the year round camp leadership team, training up future leaders (to impact our world and generations we may not see), and leading the ministry of Camp Caroline with the highest level of integrity.

He has served as President of Christian Camping International Canada, has led numerous seminars at Christian Camping Conferences and served on a number of boards helping other ministries. He has also helped a variety of organizations in a consultant type role.

Jim and his wonderful wife Diane celebrated 30 years of marriage in August 2008. They have two daughters who are both involved in ministry. One of Jim’s highest values is purposefully carving out time for his wife and girls. Diane, Ashley and Brittany have all been involved at Camp Caroline in various roles. Diane continues to mentor and pray for many of the staff ongoing.

Jim hails from Vancouver, B.C. Canada and met his wife Diane (from Texas) while studying at L’Abri in Switzerland. Early in their marriage Jim & Diane studied at London Bible College in England, and in spring 2008 the whole family attended an Ellel Ministries 9-Week Flagship Discipleship & Training School.

Jim loves life and it is an absolute honour for him to serve others and be a part of their spiritual journey with so many others who come through the gates of Camp Caroline.

Pam Morrow
Prayer Counselor

Pam is our Prayer Counselor at Camp Caroline. Born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Pam became a Christian later in life. At the time, she prayed that God would use her because she wanted her walk with God to mean something… He asked her to give away everything she owned! So she did. Then He called her to Camp Caroline to pray.

Her role has developed into what she can only describe as follows: “I talk to God, He does the work and I get the pay cheque. How blessed am I! He makes my appointments with people by bringing them to my office. I provide a shoulder to cry on and ears to hear the hurts and pain often buried so deep; we pray together, challenges are given and a support system is provided whenever needed. There is nothing or no one in the world that I love more than God. He is my Father and I am His precious child.”

Brad McComb
Program Manager

Brad is the Program Manager at Camp Caroline. His responsibilities primarily include planning, promoting, and overseeing Summer Camp. He is passionate about building a loving, inviting community and creating safe environments for personal and spiritual growth. Having made a decision to follow Jesus Christ at Camp Malibu, and being discipled at Camp Caroline as an LDT and 3-time summer staff member, he personally understands the impact of camp ministry.

Brad started on year-round staff in October 2003 after graduating Taylor University College with a Bachelor of Arts in Religion & Theology. He also gained much insight into himself and others as he participated in the Explore Wilderness and Leadership Program offered by Prairie Bible College.

Brad’s wife, Lorien, serves as the Summer Camp Registrar from January to August. She is happy to join Brad living at Camp Caroline (and thereby fulfilling one of her childhood dreams), though she also has a love for teaching high school math! Both Brad & Lorien are thankful to be a part of the lives of summer staff and be able to contribute to the fun and unique experience called Summer Camp!

Hal Gericke
Bookings Manager

Hal has been the Bookings Manager at Camp Caroline since March 2006, after having spent 26 years in Sales & Marketing at TELUS and 3 years at DHL. He coordinates all the arrangements for incoming Rental Groups, ensuring their stay at Camp Caroline is a pleasant experience. Hal very much enjoys interacting with all the different groups that pass through the doors here, especially the Monday – Friday groups whom he hosts.

Camp has always been a very special place in Hal’s life. At the tender age of 13 he committed his life to Christ at Camp Van-Es, and every summer since 1984, Hal’s family (or part of it) have spent time out here at Camp Caroline.

God has blessed Hal with 32 wonderful years of marriage to Barb, who is a junior high teacher / counsellor, and has also been seen from time to time as a camp counsellor at Camp Caroline. Their three children, Shauna (Adam), Geoff, and Paul have all served here in various positions for several summers. Hal & Barb are proud grandparents of Kaytee & Ty (check out the pictures in his office!).

Leslie Weatherbee
Executive Assistant

Leslie is our Executive Assistant. She helps Jim with many administrative projects and duties, including keeping the books, paying the bills, and looking after the ABA Pastors’ Benefits Plan. She has had 25 years in various administrative roles and church ministries before contributing her skills and gifts at Camp Caroline.

Before Leslie moved to Sundre, her home was interior British Columbia. She has been happily married for 35 years to a great guy named Larry, together they have two wonderful sons who have blessed them with two special daughters-in-law.

Leslie loves working at Camp Caroline because of the people she gets to work with and meet, the way she gets to see God work, and the opportunities to use her creative side in several projects and areas at camp!

Donna Greer
Food Services Manager

Donna started as the Food Services Manager at Camp Caroline in January 2008. She looks after the menu planning, food ordering, meal preparation, and general oversight of the kitchen. Donna’s experience includes 3 years of restaurant management and 2 years cooking in rig camp. But her greatest asset is her love of people – she not only blesses you with scrumptious meals, but she always makes you feel welcome and wanted. Admittedly, it is the people that she loves most about working at Camp Caroline.

Donna has lived in Manitoba and the Northwest Territories, but for the last 14 years has made her home in Sundre. Her husband John works as an automotive mechanic and parts man at NAPA. He graciously volunteers personal time to work on camp vehicles, help out in the kitchen, and support Donna and keep her from going crazy (or maybe it’s too late for that!).

Vern Wagner
Maintenance Manager

Vern has been the Maintenance Manager at Camp Caroline since May 2005, after working in the oil patch, construction, and farming for 30 plus years. His responsibilities include all maintenance and projects related to buildings, vehicles, equipment and grounds, as well as supervising maintenance and janitorial staff. He enjoys investing his life in mentoring the many staff and volunteers he works with throughout the year. To Vern “It’s not a job, it’s a joy to serve.”

Vern is married to Gloria, who works alongside Vern and as a team they enjoy serving the many campers that visit Camp Caroline each year. They have two children and a daughter-in-law. Vern was born in Lacombe, Alberta and spent most of his growing up years in the local area. He loves being out in God’s creation seeing it first hand.

Ron Neuman
Assistant Maintenance

Ron is a sidekick to Vern in the maintenance department (Assistant Maintenance / Special Projects Manager). His role is to assist Vern (our Maintenance Manager) in the routine running and repairing of the camp facility. In addition to this he gets involved in special projects (i.e. building the gym) to free Vern up to do daily upkeep. The thing he likes about working at Camp Caroline is the peace he experiences being where God wants him at this time, using his ‘jack of all trades’ skills in this ministry.

His wife Erma loves being around and enjoys helping out in the office or wherever needed, and heads up the Lost and Found Department of the camp (for which everyone, especially the people who she reconnects with their lost items, are especially thankful!). She’s very loving and supportive of Ron and together they are enjoying the time and the fellowship at camp very much.
